Should I get the Cupreata or Ensamble mezcal?
Choosing between the Cupreata and the Ensamble mezcal is up to personal taste, so here’s how they differ.
Cupreata Expression:
The mezcal is made from the Cupreata agave variant (local to Michoacán).
The agave Cupreata matures over 8-10 years.
Flavor profile: Earthy and herbaceous notes with a spicy undertone (grassy jalapeños notes).
Classic mezcal choice.

Ensamble Expression:
The Ensamble tastes quite different from the Cupreata. Made using an ensamble of Cupreata, Inaequidens, and Espandincillo agaves.
The star of this mezcal is the agave Inaequidens, which takes between 15-25 years to mature.
Flavor profile: Bright and floral, sometimes described as having fruit forward notes.
The Ensamble also has more variance between batches due to its increased ingredients and may never taste the same as it does now!

Ultimately, it boils down to your personal preference. Do you lean toward spicy and classic mezcal (Cupreata) or a bright and creative mezcal (Ensamble)? Either way, both options make excellent gifts!
